I wanted the much needed slap in the face to be my opening happening, but glowing colors of light on a cold grey night is just as good a reminder as a good slap.
Tonight the Pulitzer Foundation was open late to view the Dan Flavin light exhibit.
This has been a very grey winter and the boost of seeing color and light, even though artificial, in a beautiful pure building by Tadao Ando reminded me to look up and keep checking for stars and that crazy moon every night.
Side story. After Dan Flavin became known for his light scupltures bulb companies offered to make him custom bulbs in the color of his choice. His response was why would I want to do that?
He is an artist who is about being inspired and creating from what is already available.
